Joist hangers are designed to connect joists to headers in a variety of framing applications. 2×6 hangers will work with 2×6 or 8 inch lumber. Use all specified fasteners. Joist nails must be driven at a 30 degree to 45 degree angle through the joist or truss into the header to achieve listed loads. Standard length “double shear” nails must be used to achieve listed load values. 16d sinkers (9 gauge x 31⁄4˝) may be used where 10d commons are specified with no load reduction.
